Common questions
What does “until approved” mean exactly?
After each written comment or correction request from the city, we update the file and send it back to you, until the permit is approved, for up to 6 months after your order.
What if the city refuses my permit?
If the refusal comes from a written requirement of the city’s code or published forms that we missed, we refund the full price. Refusals of variances, neighbor objections, discretionary design reviews, HOA decisions, changes to the project, wrong information and rules adopted after filing are not covered.
Are you architects, engineers or lawyers?
No. YesPermit prepares permit applications: research of the rules, site plan, drawings for permit submission, forms. We do not do structural calculations and we do not give legal advice. When your city or your project requires a licensed architect or engineer, we tell you before we start.
Is the city’s permit fee included?
No. Permit fees are paid to your city or county. Your file shows the fee from the city’s published fee schedule, with the link, so you know it before you file.
